I definitely understand your point and agree that the film is saying that. I just think it’s a lame excuse (guarding other planets that we never see or care about is not entertaining). Also, her being overpowered is an issue regardless of the thing holding her back. Because once she breaks through that block, she has nothing holding her back. Superman has this same issue, which is why Kryptonite was created (I still think Superman is also boring for this same reason.)
The marvels was just a trash movie from a production standpoint. The VFX was really bad, the writing was weak, and the directing was non existent. The director even said she didn’t know what scenes they were shooting some of the time... that’s an issue. Thanks for the comment! Curious, what’s your top 5??
Lots of thoughts on this, but speaking to the Captain Marvel viewpoint. I think the point is that she’s actually not handicapped at all. She just didnt realize and meeting the skrulls helped reveal the truth about who she actually was and what she could do. Jude Law has no hold over her by the end of the movie. She is so powerful, in fact, that she’s the protector of MANY universes which leads to found flaws of her decisions in Marvels and speaks to her being missing in some of the fights.
