That’s probably the biggest issue people have with Kramer. His intensity never lets up. I found it way better to listen at 1.25-1.4 speed. If you aren’t a big fan of his voice that might help! It’s worth it for the book!!!

I’ll look into Nakani for sure! I’m definitely not opposed to female narrators at all, just not quite as high on my list.

I’ve tried Mistborn at least twice on audio and get burnt out on Kramer’s voice. It just doesn’t let up on the intensity, as you say 😄

I understand the response to lower and higher pitched voices, it is a real thing. I hope you’re open to another female narrator if you try out the Daevabad Trilogy (City of Brass). Soneela Nankani is the narrator and I think her voice is quite low pitched. It is pretty cool to search by a favorite narrator to find something new, I don’t do that very often. This lady has done a few fantasy books, but nothing major that I’d heard of, YA I think.
